Rakeem J. Nelson is the owner and founder of Unity Wellness Group LLC, a veteran-led wellness practice built on compassion, integrity, and community care. As a former Army Combat Medic, Rakeem brings a strong medical foundation and a deep commitment to service into every aspect of the organization.

During his military career, Rakeem provided care under high-pressure environments, working closely with brigade surgeons, emergency medical teams, and service members with complex medical needs. This background shaped his understanding of trauma, recovery, and the critical importance of accessible, high-quality wellness support.

After transitioning out of the military, Rakeem dedicated himself to creating a space where healing is accessible to all—especially veterans, single parents, and low-income families. His leadership at Unity Wellness Group focuses on bridging clinical knowledge with holistic care to ensure every client receives personalized, thoughtful, and effective support.

Driven by a mission to uplift the community, Rakeem oversees the development of programs, partnerships, and services that prioritize affordability, wellness education, and long-term health improvement. His vision is simple: build a wellness center where people feel understood, supported, and empowered to take control of their healing journey.

🌿Felisha L. Smith, LMT & LMI

Operations Director & Co-Founder, Unity Wellness Group LLC

Felisha L. Smith is the Operations Director and Co-Founder of Unity Wellness Group LLC, bringing over a decade of dedicated experience in therapeutic massage, holistic wellness, and client-centered healing. Raised in a proud military family and later becoming a single parent herself, Felisha understands firsthand the importance of strength, resilience, and accessible support—values that guide her work every day.

With more than 10 years in the field, Felisha is a licensed massage therapist and licensed massage instructor who has played a key role in helping establish and grow multiple wellness practices across El Paso. Before entering the wellness industry full-time, she built a strong professional background working in management and as a military contractor, gaining leadership experience and developing the communication and organizational skills that now support Unity Wellness Group’s operations and client care.

Felisha specializes in working with clients experiencing chronic pain, mobility limitations, stress, and post-military physical conditions. Her therapeutic approach blends technical knowledge with intuitive care, ensuring every session is uniquely tailored to the needs of each individual—especially veterans, single parents, and families navigating difficult transitions.

As a single parent and someone shaped by military culture, Felisha brings empathy, structure, and understanding to her practice. She works side-by-side with founder Rakeem J. Nelson to create programs that make wellness truly accessible for underserved and at-risk community members. Her commitment to compassionate, transformative care has helped make Unity Wellness Group a trusted space of healing and support for the El Paso community.
